Chapter 5 – An New Home

It is all quiet as Xiuying Chang open her eyes but as she try to left up her arms to stretch them, they won’t move at all and a bird start singing at a low volume which slowly grows. Xiuying Chang tries to move the rest of her body but nothing in her body seems to work, suddenly she remember the attack and the explosions. “What happened to me?” She thinks loud with no voice at all which scares her even more so her eyes starts filling with tears of fear and sadness as she have no idea of what happen to her, the others or her world for that matter. Suddenly something appears in the edge of her eyes which makes the tears run faster as she finds out she can see but the happy tears quickly turns in scared tears as the thing that comes closer are as far from alive as possible as it is a walking rotten corpse. She tries to move again but nothing helps and the corpse comes closer and closer. She tries screaming again but even she can feel her mouth movement, no voice leaves her mouth and suddenly it hits her that the only sound is coming form the bird and it is started to get on a disturbing level. Her focus on the bird makes her lose focus on the corpse and it is like the bird is telling her something with it’s high voice but just as she was about to hear words in the singing a hand touched her and with all her power she tried to scream and movement but it did not help and soon the corpse kissed her and spoke with a deep and far from friendly voice “I will be waiting for you” and in the next he, the bird and her vision was gone and she could hear Jun Chen talking to Yi Cheng about her but she was to happy to be in the real world to listen to what they said.
She tried to take some deep breaths but the pain in her chest made her break it into smaller ones before she gave up and just yelled “I am awake” and the speaking died out quickly and some fast steeps followed before the kind voice of Jun Chen appeared. “How are you? Xiuying Chang” she tried to smile but pain form the breathing from before scared her face but she still replied “I am fine, but where are we?” Her had picked up the songs of birds who was normally living near the sea and even that the emperor’s palace was near the sea too, she had not heard them doing the time they were there and she knew they had been under attack so it would not be so quiet unless they were captured. The word capture filled her mind and a tear ran down her cheek and she continued her questions. “Are we…” The word was too hard for her to say even it was all over her mind but suddenly her hands were caught by some gentle hands and her mind started to calm before Jun Chen voice replied her. “No, we are safe… in the town of Tengxiang which is the home town of Yi Cheng, in his old home” Xiuying Chang knew something was wrong but she was too focused on that they were all safe now to worried about when it hit her, what about the emperor Jiang Chen. “What about Jiang Chen?” It flew out of her even she did not want to ask and in the same she could feel the gentle hand of Jun Chen squeeze her a bit hard. “Sorry didn’t meant to hurt you, Xiuying Chang, but my father stayed at the palace while we escaped and I fear the worst for him” Xiuying Chang could feel another tear run down her cheek while her focus turned to Yi Cheng. “I am sorry too… why are you so quiet Yi Cheng?” She wanted to change subject to something more happy. Yi Cheng looked at the two before replied “Sorry I was thinking about what to do with you two as I cannot train both of you on the same time alone, so please excuse me now as I will run some earns in the town while you stay her and get better” She could hear his steps started to leaved the room before he continued “And you young man, start training with this sword while I am away” and in the next Xiuying Chang could hear a sword fly thought the air and that Jun Chen hands quickly disappeared from hers. “I hope to see you sweating when I get back and I will try to find something for you to get better faster together with some new bandages” Yi Chang said and he steps started to leave the room and fate in the birds singing. It left a awkward silence between Xiuying Chang and Jun Chen who was the first to break the silence “you heard him, I better getting started and you better rest” but before he could leave the room Xiuying Chang had grip his clothes with a shacking head she commanded him “I want to see the house first no matter how much pain” some not understandable words came from Jun Chen but Xiuying Chang raised her voice but kept it kind “Today, please” and before she could say more the sword clacked against the floor and two hands took her gentle in her right hand and shoulder to get her up. Xiuying Chang could feel the pain grow and she had to bite her lips hard which almost was bursting when she finally got on her two legs. “Thanks” she replied with a smile before she almost fell back to the bed if not for Jun Chen. In crazy set of movements they appeared to be doing something like dancing before standing close like two tulips in the wind. Xiuying Chang could feel how Jun Chen eyes watching her everywhere and the pain in her body disappeared. She wanted to return the favor by kissing him but before her lips could find him, they were meet by his and Xiuying Chang felt like she were flying but soon gravity took over and she landed back in the bed with Jun Chen with the pain building up making her scream. Jun Chen moved away from her as fast he could but the damage was done and the bandages started to get more and more red. “It hurts… IT HURTS…” Xiuying Chang screams loud before her mouth is covered by a gentle hand. “I am so sorry for the pain and the hand” Jun Chen whispers to her ear and his gentle voice calms her down but still her body is still full of pains. “Lay still and please don’t scream, I will check your injuries and do what I can but please don’t scream anymore” Xiuying Chang does her best to do as told but the fingers of Jun Chen on her skin started to build up the pain again and soon tears started to run down her checks. Jun Chen could see the pain in her eyes and at the tears making the floor wet while the blood made the bandages more and more red. He was focusing all his senses at her than he did not notice the man in the door watching them but quickly he felt the eyes. He pretended to be focused on her when his eyes search the floor for the sword. “Where is it? I need it now” he thought to himself while trying to focus on making his movements look natural so the watcher wouldn’t know about his search. Finally he got an eye on it but to his fear it was near a part of Xiuying Chang body which didn’t have any visible injuries so he knew to get it, he had to be fast but before he could think of a plan the watcher moved against them and in the next second he was kneeling at Xiuying Chang’s body with a knife in his left hand . The position didn’t give Jun Chen many seconds to act so he jumped at the man over the body of Xiuying Chang and by pure luck he did not hit her and was able to grasp the sword on the way. He held the sword against the throat of the stranger who had not had any chance to defend himself. “Calm down youngster, I am just here to help” a gentle dry voice spoke almost like Yi Chang but it wasn’t him. “Let go of the knife and I might let you leave this place alive” Jun Chen replied with the meanest voice he could as he did not take any chances. The stranger didn’t move a muscle “I am sent by Yi Chang, took take care of her” he replied with the still gentle and calm voice. Jun Chen was about to yell again but the old man continued “and it looks like you need some help too” Jun Chen got confused before he got a pain in the hand grasping the sword and with one eye he watched the blood dripping from the shaft and his hand as he had been so focused on defending Xiuying Chang that he hadn’t had time to notice he had hurt himself and was bleeding. “Now if you please, would you be kind to remove it” but before Jun Chen had a chance to react he was already on the ground with the old man “I see, what Yi Chang meant that you needed more training” then he removed the sword from Jun Chen hand and started to put on some kind of flowers before covering the bloody mix with some bandages. As he were done he removed himself from Jun Chen who quickly started checking the bandages before nodding at the stranger “I am sorry I doubted you, my lord? Friend of Yi Chang” The old man looked at him without answering but his eyes looked like he was laughing and then he just shock his head and focused on Xiuying Chang who was still laying quietly on the ground like nothing had happen. He took his knife from the floor and looked directly at Jun Chen and finally open his mouth “Please don’t attack me again as I am only going to make the bad blood leave her body so her pain will disappear” he held a break and started cutting different places on Xiuying Chang’s body while Jun Chen watched like it a falcon. “You can help” the man said without losing focus from Xiuying Chang and Jun Chen decided that it was more important to let Xiuying Chang be free of her pain than doubt the old man any longer so he walked over to and was about to use his own knife but just as he was about to cut, the man took a hard grip in him. “Sorry, not that knife, please use this one instead” and he were handed a knife exactly like the one, the man was used. “You can find the bad blood by the black marks under the wounds” Jun Chen was about to say to the old man that he was a foul as all the time he had been injured he had yet to see any black marks under near them and he had not seen any on Xiuying Chang doing his search just before but as he looked again he could see lots of tiny black marks around the wounds almost hidden by the bloody bandages. He started doing as the old man had told him and a silence fell over them and only the nearby birds made any sounds at all. Doing the cutting Jun Chen started to wonder who the old man was and why he had not introduced himself yet but guess his attack and focus on helping on Xiuying Chang had made him forgot as he looked very old so Jun Chen decide he wanted to remove any bad connection between them and looked up form Xiuying Chang and brook the silence “I am crown prince Jun Chen and… “ he wanted to know the name of the stranger but the stranger broke in before he could ask the question “I know who you, the girl and everybody in this world is… Now see, she is all free of the black marks” Jun Chen quickly looked down on Xiuying Chang who had not said a word doing the entire session sense he had noticed the man and the man where right but he still wanted the name of the old man “Yes, you have done a great job so no more excuse and tell me your name” Jun Chen could feel the anger grow in him as each word had left his mouth. Suddenly with a quick movement the old man stood up like he had been standing there all the time and before Jun Chen could react the old man had a firm grip around his arms making him unable to move and replied “You don’t need my name” and in the next Jun Chen were on the ground next to Xiuying Chang who had started crying again and when he turned around to look after the old man he was gone. “Come back” he yelled and pulled himself and his sword up form the ground next Xiuying Chang and was about to run after but noticed that the bandage on his hand was gone together with the cutting which confused him even more. Suddenly he felt something at his left food and was about to strike down but managed to behave himself when he noticed that it was Xiuying Chang’s hand. “Are you okay, Jun Chen?” A wet voice from Xiuying Chang asked and as he looked down he noticed that the red bandages he had watched after falling down with her where all white as new snow. He tried to get a hold on himself and managed to stutter “Did… you… not hear or feel the old man?” The hand on his leg took a harder grip in his leg while a now scared voice replied “What man? I have been laying still like you told me to since you feel over me just before… wait a minute” the scared voice turned into confused as last words left her mouth before she started again “I don’t feel any pain anymore” Jun Chen sat down on his knees and started to look at near her bandages but the black marks had disappeared which made look even closer and as he touched the bandages it almost opened up like a flower. “Why are you not out training and getting sweat on your forehead as I told you” Jun Chen and Xiuying Chang both almost jumped at the commanding voice form Yi Chang. Jun Chen tried to decide if he should tell Yi Chang about the man only he had seen and felt while he had been away. “Sorry, Yi Chang, I will go training now” but as he looked out the window, he could see the sun was going down in the sea. “It’s too late for that now, and you didn’t answer my question, maybe you are too focused on what had happened the last days” the word days gave a set in Xiuying Chang who had been listening to the conversation “how long have I been out before waking up earlier?” It flew out of her without caring about anything. Yi Chang got surprised as he expected her to be fast asleep again but took himself together and then answered “you have only missed the day riding from the palace to your new home, here in Tengxiang” Xiuying Chang could feel the peace come over her again. The question had given time to Jun Chen to think about the event which had happened or he thought had happened and decided he wanted to tell Yi Chang. “Grandmaster, can I have a word with you in private” Yi Chang looked at him weird as they had been using names all the time so far so why suddenly the title so he just nodded before putting down the dinner for the day, Chicken breasts with yellow rice and green onions. They walked outside the house and left Xiuying Chang alone. “So?” Yi Chang voice almost commanded replied as they where alone. “Sorry, grandmaster that I wasn’t out training as you expected me to be… I won’t let you down again” while he started to look around for a good place to make the fire for cooking the dinner. Yi Chang looked at him with serious eyes before replying just as serious “no matter what happened today, I want to know it all” before he noticed how serious he had sounded and decided to make up to it “sorry I am just a bit tired from searching for someone to help us and it is fine that you haven’t been training today but I need you to be ready for the time when you need the power, so please tell me what happened” Jun Chen could feel the event in his mind pressing on his tongue but didn’t know where to start so the words almost flew out of his mouth in randomly order “random man, healing powers, only me, fighting” he managed to say before Yi Chang held a hand on his head without saying anything but it relaxed Jun Chen who could now find the words. “I am not sure if I was dreaming or what but Xiuying Chang wanted to stand up after you had leaved us and I tried to make her stand up and all went fine until we suddenly fell to the ground and I landed on top of her…” he looked at Yi Chang who just nodded him to continue “of course with all her injuries she started screaming and I tried to make her feel better again when suddenly a old man like you appeared with a knife and we had a fight which ended with him winning and I cut myself with my sword in the attempt to defend Xiuying Chang…” his voice had broken as he started to worry what would had happened if the old man hadn’t been helping them but attacked them instead “it is all right, show me where you cut yourself” Jun Chen looked at him with more worrying eyes before answering “I am not lying but the injury is already gone as he cured it… but let me continue the story as there is something more” Yi Chang sent him a weird look but nodded to let him continue “After our fight, he used a knife to clean Xiuying Chang of “bad blood” as he called it and he searched her body for black marks and I helped him and afterwards he were suddenly gone like he had never been there and then soon after you appeared” Yi Chang looked at him and nodded before replied “Thank you for the story and I have no doubt that it is true, but now let’s us go get Xiuying Chang so we can all eat” he was about to go to the door when she suddenly stood there. “I am sorry to listen to the story but I was hungry” Jun Chen went over to guide her the last steps outside as there was not much she could follow. They eat in silence and when they were done, they watched the stars at the sky turn from one to many. Yi Chang was the first to break the silence “I see no point in finding myself a helper tomorrow after you have been healed in someway so instead I will start your trainings… Jun Chen I will train you to become a good emperor like your father and a fearsome warrior while you Xiuying Chang will be trained into become a good wife even you are blind, with that said I want you to forget what you have learned about sword fighting” Xiuying Chang was a bit sad for not being able to train her fighting styles anymore but decided now was not the time to argue about it so she just nodded before she stood up before finding her way to bed. “I will go to bed now, good night” she said with a kind voice trying hide her bad mood and didn’t take the hands of Jun Chen who had raised himself up too to help her back to bed. She had almost just entered the opening to the house before she could hear Jun Chen also excuse himself and go to bed but she didn’t want to talk to him so she moved faster and entered her room quickly went under the blanket to sleep. In the meantime had Jun Chen went to his bed who because of no time to settle down was outside the house but he didn’t mind much because of the many stars and no clouds in sight. As Yi Chang was all alone, he looked around to make sure he were alone before he turned his face against the sky and spoke with gentle but certain words “I have seen it too, brothers but we cannot interfere with events here on earth so please brother Shuǐ don’t help us again” and then he made killed the fire before leaving the place and went to his hammock next to Jun Chen who already was sleeping. Xiuying Chang wakes up in her fine new bed and starts following the walls to the door before heading outside but even she have only been there once, she can feel something have changed. What is weird is that she can smell smoke but the fire place should be dead by now and no one else would be up by now. She walked around and the smoke got greater and greater. “Jun Chen, Yi Chang” she tried to call but her voice was gone which normally would have scared her but because of the past events, she knew it was probably just a bad dream so she decided to go back to bed. She turned around and walked against the door when a strange cold voice replied her “Xiuying Chang, Xiuying Chang” it started to repeat but she didn’t care but as she reach her bedroom and tried to lay on her bed she got a big shock. Someone was laying there already and as she started to figure out who it was she could feel it where a woman around her size with the same hair and bandages like her. She tried to push the body away when the voice suddenly changed from repeatedly saying her name to actually forming a sentences “you are not dreaming nor having nightmare, my little friend” the fear started to grow in her even she had agreed with herself that it was just a dream but the voice continued to get under her skin. “You are all alone here and you are going to died her” the voice said and it sounded like it came closer and closer for each word. She wanted to run away but as she didn’t know the surroundings left moveless and she tried to scream again but the voice was all gone. Suddenly hands started to touch her everywhere and it felt like flames touching her and she tried to scream again when a hand covered her mouth and ears but the voice was still there. “You will never leave this place alive…” Xiuying Chang could feel the fear started to grow inside her but she could not give up so she focused on the happiness she had before with her family especially her father who had already been there for her when she needed him. “Those happy moments in your life won’t save you from me because of who I am” Xiuying Chang tried to keep her thoughts happy but the voice had gotten under her skin and have started to fill up her body and the hands for her mouth and ears had been joined by many more. “Who are you?” She started to think over and over to force the voice to answer her question and then something happened she had never expected. The hands started to disappear form her body before she knew it only the hand on her was her mouth when the voice almost gentle replied a last time “You…” and suddenly it all was gone and as she blinked her eyes she were back in her bed and she could hear the others snoring outside. She tried to think it all though of what she just had experience or dreamt, she was not sure at all but her body had other ideas and before she knew it, she screamed loud and long. It gave a set in Jun Chen and Yi Chang who jumped out of their hammocks and ran so fast they could to Xiuying Chang and found her still screaming with tears running down her cheek and down on her blanket. They tried to make sense of by her screaming but nothing was too see on her body or anyone nearby except them. “Calm down” Yi Chang started with a calm relaxed voice and held her down “What is wrong? Please calm down” he continued and Xiuying Chang lowered her voice and soon stopped screaming. She wanted to answer him but before she could get the chance, her eyes closed and she were fast asleep. Yi Chang felt at her neck and nose before nodding “She is just asleep” as he could hear that Jun Chen wasn’t breading. Jun Chen started to breath heavy but soon back to normal. “Do you have any idea what was wrong with her?” He spoke as he had gotten the air back. Yi Chang thought for a minute before he replied dry “No, but guess you better sleep on the floor next to her to make sure we can help her faster next time” Jun Chen just nodded before running to his hammock to get his pillow and blanket before heading back fast. “Good, now let us sleep as tomorrow we have lots of plans like getting a proper training sword for you and getting a tomb stone made for Xiuying Chang”, “You expect her to die” Jun Chen broke in without thinking or let Yi Chang finish. Yi Chang smile “If you let me finish, then of course not, but I suspect that her nightmares is from her lose of her family which is hitting her hard because she have been so used to have them helping her with anything because her blindness… We will also get Red Spider Lily Incase they doesn’t have any to protect their graves around here.” Jun Chen looked like a question mark about the part with the flower “It is poisonous plants to scare the animals away… I know she doesn’t have any to bury but wants to help the rest of the town too” Jun Chen nodded before yawning “Good night” he tried to say while Yi Chang smile and replied “You too” The rest of the night nothing happen and soon the sun raised in east. Yi Chang was the first one awake and he started to make breakfast for the three of them, the smell of food quickly woke up Jun Chen while Xiuying Chang was still fast asleep. “Good morning” Jun Chen started and Yi Chang just looked at him and nodded back before he put some rice and some meat on a plate and handed him “Today I will leave the house with Xiuying Chang so please this time, you have no reason for getting started on your training” Jun Chen just nodded with his mouth full of food which made Yi Chang smile a bit. Jun Chen swallowed his food and replied “Are you sure that it is a good idea to walk around with her in the town with out any defense? When I have your sword” Yi Chang just nodded while eating a bit himself but he took a plate and filled it up “Here, go wake up Xiuying Chang and give her this, so she can get her strength back” Jun Chen putted his plate down and took the other before heading inside to Xiuying Chang who still was laying in her bed but she had been awake for a while and just listening to the sounds coming from everywhere. “Wake up, Wake up” but before Xiuying Chang could answer him, Yi Chang had also entered the room and ruined the kind morning “Sorry to break in like this but just forgot to say that you has to forget your real names” Jun Chen looked weird at him but Xiuying Chang knew why as her father had told her about spies and others who keep their names a secret. “It is to keep us a secret so no one knows that you are the crown prince and even I am not so much important in this world then it is best we keep us secret” she broke in without thinking about saying good morning or anything “That is right” Yi Chang replied and continued “So from now on we will only use our first names but because your named Xiuying is a bit unique in this area you will be named Xiu” A tear ran down her check but she nodded and quickly removed it before changing focus to the lovely smell of food “When can I get allowed to eat” she replied with a teasing voice and Jun Chen who had focused on the conversation quickly turned against her with the plate in his hand so he almost dropped it on her but even that she were blind she still had some quick movements and catches the plate before it was going to make a mess. She started to eat like nothing had happen and Yi Chang smile to himself before replied “Eat quickly so we can get the day started” then pointed at the sword and Jun Chen, “Go training now” and Jun Chen quickly did what he was ordered and left the room quickly with the sword in his hand and soon the air was full of the sword singing as he started cutting the air into two. Xiuying Chang finished her without any words as she listened to the sound of the sword. As she was done she stood up before removing they unnecessarily bandages which still covered her body after all the weird events yesterday. “I am ready to go now, but may I ask where as you haven’t told me anything other than to eat fast” she asked, making Yi Chang laugh which made Xiuying Chang blossom a little as you thought it was her who had been stupid but it quickly disappeared as Yi Chang answered. “Sorry Xiu, I forgot that you was not awake when I told it to Jun. We are going to the stone mason who will make you are grave stone for our family but mostly yours and then we will also get some Lycoris Radiata which help keeping animals away from the remains even you don’t have any” Xiuying Chang found it weird that he said mostly her family but didn’t think much of it and just gave her hand to him and replied “Sounds like I need a guide if we are going so many place that I have never been, even in this house” Yi Chang took the hand with a hard but gentle grip and replied “sorry you have not been shown around but we will do that after our trip in the town” and then he took her out of some doors which sounded old and dry while the sword songs quickly disappeared and was replaced with people talking about everything. Yi Chang didn’t say much so Xiuying Chang didn’t felt the need to ruin the silence between them even she had started to wonder how long she have been at the town. Yi Chang walked a bit faster than she were use to her parents had been doing but before she could ask him to slow down, they had entered a door without much sounds and a hammering sounds was heard instead. “Mr. stone mason?” She could get hear Yi Chang said trying to break through the hammering which soon stopped “Hello, sorry I didn’t hear you entering but what do you want?” Xiuying Chang could feel Yi Chang loosed his hand from hers before answering “my granddaughter Xiu Chang have lost her parents and I want you to create a tombstone for them and even she is blind I will let you two take care of it while I will head out to get a new sword” Xiuying Chang wanted to make objections against it but before she got a chance to say anything, she could hear the door close and the voice of the stone mason ask her something. “I am sorry was in my own world, could you please repeat that?” She said without have the slightest clue about what he had said. “Sure, miss Xiu, I asked if you have any ideas of what you want the tombstone to look like?” Xiuying Chang started to think and it didn’t take long before a dragon jumped into her eyes and started dancing in front of her and even she had never seen anything in her life, she knew it was a dragon. “I want a dragon, if you are any good at making those?” The stone mason started laughing before he calm down and replied “I am sorry but of course I am good at that” and then she heard the hammering started and there were no more talk between them. In the meantime had Yi Chang found the blacksmith out side the town and soon had a training sword ready for Jun Chen. The blacksmith had made it sharp and light as he had requested so now he only needed to find some Lycoris Radiata for the graves. The hammering sounds from the blacksmith ended and he took a firm grip in the sword and made it fly though the air a few times before he bowed to the blacksmith “Thanks, it is truly the sword I ordered” the blacksmith didn’t reply and just held his hand out and Yi Chang dropped some golden coins in it before leaving with sword and soon was back between noisy people who filled the street. He went back to the stone mason and Xiuying Chang who was still busy making the tombstone. “Ohh, you are back already… I am sorry my lord but I don’t think I will get it done before tomorrow” Yi Chang smiled but still thought his mind about how long it could take to make a tombstone before he noticed it resembled a dragon and not just any dragon but the earth dragon leaving him speechless before Xiuying Chang gripped his hand. “Why did you leave me?” Asked Xiuying Chang and Yi Chang could feel that something was wrong and replied the mason, “it is fine” before he turned against Xiuying Chang and looked at her and noticed that her eyes were wet. “Have you been crying, Xiu?” Xiuying Chang could answer before she started to shake all her body. The mason broke in “She told me about her parents and started crying quickly because of that” Yi Chang could feel the lie in the voice and pulled the training sword from it’s sheath and pointed it directly at the mason, who quickly looked around and took his biggest hammer. “What did you do?” Yi Chang yelled so loud that people outside the shop stopped everything to hear what was happening. As the mason didn’t answer Yi Chang got even more angry and yelled even louder “I asked, what did you do?” The yelling made Xiuying Chang cry again before single words started to come in bursts “he… he.. he” she tell but the tears and everything made it hard for her to say it. “What did he do?” Yi Chang tried to say gentle but he was still to angry at the mason to sound kind. “He touched… me on my breasts” she finally managed to say before her tears ran even faster but before the first one could reach the end of her check the mason had already replied loud “She is lying” but Yi Chang knew it was the truth he pointed the sword against him and with an furious voice replied “I don’t believe you… but because I don’t have time to fix this mess, I will let you get away with it” Xiuying Chang could feel the confusing growing in her head as why would he let the man touch her but in the same the mason replied “I don’t care about your time” and in the next she could her the heavy hammer flying to the air. Clack it said as the two weapons hit each other but no of them broke and Xiuying Chang expected a new clack but instead scream was heard “You crazy old man, you cut me” which was quickly followed by Yi Chang “Yes, now stop and make the tombstone finished for free” The mason lower his hammer but was far form done “No, I am not making you any stone at all, no matter what you or that crazy woman says” he replied but the hammer still didn’t move in attack mode again. “If you not do it, I will bring someone who make it the last thing you ever do” Yi Chang yelled again and turned away form the man and started to walk against the door but before he had taken a step, two soldier had entered the room. “What is going on here” they yelled to make sure all heard them before noticing who the old man was and quickly continued “I am sorry Master Yi Chang, we are sorry for yelling at you” Yi Chang took Xiuying Chang and held her against him and replied with a gentle voice “It is fine, as long you make that man disappear” The mason was speechless as he had learned who he had been up against but the gone voice soon returned with sadness in his voice “I am sorry for what I did, I don’t deserve to be in front of you at all” which Yi Chang could feel was the truth and even he felt he had to protect Xiuying Chang, he also felt that he had to save the man and thought for a moment before replying “if my granddaughter allows me, I will forgive your actions in return for the tombstone” at first Xiuying Chang felt weird about it but the warmth of Yi Chang made her know, it was the right thing to do. “I forgive you too, but if it ever happens to me or another woman again I won’t save you” The soldiers looked at each other as they were used to be in charge of what to happen but the way the two parties had fixed the problem themselves left them thinking for a while before talking almost silence to each other before nodding. “We allow this punishment if you promise, you won’t do it again and if you do then I do not want to be in your shoes” the words have only just left the mouth of the soldier before the mason replied “I am sorry for all and I promise on my heart” then he walked back to the dragon to start completing it while the others left the shop. Outside the shop the soldiers decided it was best to keep the town unaware of what had happened and left Yi Chang and Xiuying Chang alone at the street. They started to walk down the street to their home in silence but just as they were about to enter the gate broke Yi Chang the silence “I am sorry for the event that happen today Xiuying Chang… I nearby give you my word that I will never leave your side again and if I do I will make sure you are around friends” Yi Chang did not know what to reply but smile for the first time since the events and tighten her grip in Yi Chang as they walked into opening at the house where Jun Chen still was training hard.
