She tried to take some deep breaths but the pain in her chest made her break it into smaller ones before she gave up and just yelled “I am awake” and the speaking died out quickly and some fast steeps followed before the kind voice of Jun Chen appeared. “How are you? Xiuying Chang” she tried to smile but pain form the breathing from before scared her face but she still replied “I am fine, but where are we?” Her had picked up the songs of birds who was normally living near the sea and even that the emperor’s palace was near the sea too, she had not heard them doing the time they were there and she knew they had been under attack so it would not be so quiet unless they were captured. The word capture filled her mind and a tear ran down her cheek and she continued her questions. “Are we…” The word was too hard for her to say even it was all over her mind but suddenly her hands were caught by some gentle hands and her mind started to calm before Jun Chen voice replied her. “No, we are safe… in the town of Tengxiang which is the home town of Yi Cheng, in his old home” Xiuying Chang knew something was wrong but she was too focused on that they were all safe now to worried about when it hit her, what about the emperor Jiang Chen. “What about Jiang Chen?” It flew out of her even she did not want to ask and in the same she could feel the gentle hand of Jun Chen squeeze her a bit hard. “Sorry didn’t meant to hurt you, Xiuying Chang, but my father stayed at the palace while we escaped and I fear the worst for him” Xiuying Chang could feel another tear run down her cheek while her focus turned to Yi Cheng. “I am sorry too… why are you so quiet Yi Cheng?” She wanted to change subject to something more happy. Yi Cheng looked at the two before replied “Sorry I was thinking about what to do with you two as I cannot train both of you on the same time alone, so please excuse me now as I will run some earns in the town while you stay her and get better” She could hear his steps started to leaved the room before he continued “And you young man, start training with this sword while I am away” and in the next Xiuying Chang could hear a sword fly thought the air and that Jun Chen hands quickly disappeared from hers.
Ling Wang could feel the pain growing inside her again both in the mind and the injuries but she kept quiet as she did not want to lose more lives. She started to look on the sun which was red as blood even that it had been raising for a while. She wondered how much time there had been gone since her rage against the soldiers and now but she decided not to ask Jiahao ask he looked focused on getting to the palace as quickly and quietly as possible so she tried to get back to sleep again even it was hard because of the pains. Suddenly a yelling voice broke the silence and Ling Wang looked around to find the source and understand what it said but before she found it, the sound found her as head popped forward from the bushes. “Hello, are you alright?” He continued but before Ling Wang could answer him Jiahao had already taken a hard grip in the man without a single word. “What is wrong old man? Is the girl your daughter or something?” The stranger continued and Ling Wang wanted to answer him but the look from Jiahao told her that it was a bad idea and in the next second the stranger had pulled a knife and started yelling “give me your values or get cut, I am not asking twice” Jiahao who had been silence doing the all could not prevent himself from laughing which started to annoy the stranger. “Stop laughing” but before he could say more had Jiahao slowly drawn his sword and pointed it at the man. He made big eyes when he noticed the size, he started to lose focus and stutter “I am… sorry for… ruining you day… bye” he manage to say before he were gone and Jiahao stopped laughing and put his sword back on place before he pointed in from them. “We are almost there” he spoke as his fingers pointed outta a wall in the horizon which did not look like much.
She looked at him with her death eyes and even that they didn’t look directly at him he knew she was calm again so when she nodded too, he just as gentle removed his hand. “I am sorry to me you like this” he started while moving behind the fireplace so she could get warmth into her beaten body. He was about to continue but was interrupted by Ling Wang “Where I am? Who are you? Where are my horse?” Her mouth turn sour in all the questions as she didn’t knew up or down in anything. All she knew was the pain inside her chest from the lose of her parents and the accident with the horse not long ago. The accident stood clear in her mind like a painting and her mouth worked again “what happened to the soldiers?… hmph…” the gentle hand was back and a gentle voice replied “I will answer all your questions, one at a time… but before I will answer anything I want to know your name so I know who I am talking to, are you up to that?” Ling Wang nodded and in the second she felt the hand leave her mouth she replied “I am Ling Wang, only daughter of general Xiao Wang and Lan Wang former concubine of the emperor” she stopped as she worried that the hand would return even it was gentle but nothing happened so she continued “I regret to inform that both of them are expected death together with the entire town” she wanted to say more but she could her that her company had started crying so she stopped and felt the heat warm her up. The old man looked at her trying to figure out if it was true he had just heard so he gathered his tears and asked “is that really why you are here?” Tear drops could be hear falling when he ended the question and Ling Wang just looked after him with even more death eyes than before. “l am sorry but yes.” She answered with a voice leaving no doubt and her eyes started dripping again too before she continue “Now I have introduced myself, who may I ask you are?” And the old man replied “Jiahao Wang, your father’s grandmaster, I have know your father since I meet her in a forest much like this after the first war between the emperor and his brother so I supposed I should know about you too but been too focused on personal matters that I have been away for too long and was on the way to visit your parents” Ling Wang could hear there was more sadness in the voice than before so she knew something bad had happened to him and she was sure he wasn’t lying to her but still she was not sure if it was right time to ask questions other than those about the place and what had happened while she had been blacked out.
She walked from house to house trying to avoid as many people as possible before she exited the town before almost running the last way. As she got to the hill with a small tree outside the town, she could feel that the wind had taken the warmth from the sun and that it sooner or later would start to rain but she did not mind it at all. She started to swing her sword and soon her favorite noise came, the rain against the rocks around her and she focused for a second before she pointed the edge of the sword to the west and as she was stretched to her limit without taking a step the first drop hit the edge of the blade before millions followed and soon she was wet every place of her body and she started to dance with the sword like it was a dance partner and the rain was the music they were dancing too. Soon the wind joined the music too so the rain drops was harder to heard but still there plus they did not land as simple as before. It gave a set in her when a mighty thunder roared in the sky above her as she was used to that thunder came before rain but the lightnings started to cut thought the rain drops like her sword. She was not scared of the thunder so she just continued her training like she had planed it while waiting for her father.
Ning Wang turned against her grandfather and looked at him before turning back to the fireworks and did not mind it was past her bedtime now. Jiahao Wang looked at the clock before he with a certain dry voice announced “it is time for bed young lady” while he took a step closer to her as the words left his mouth but as he was about to put his hand on her she just turned around and looked at him with the biggest eyes ever begging to stay and watch the fireworks but he just shaked his head like it was nothing. He was about to take a hard grasp in her but by the time he reached the point of his body she had disappeared and left the room. He smiled to himself without laughing to make sure she did not hear him and then yelled with a big higher power “Brush your teeth now and you can watch the fireworks from your bed until you fall asleep” he started to walk back to the door and heard the door to the bathroom open and the toothbrush start running. He had still had some power over her and walked to the bathroom door to talk about the rules around here but the bathroom was empty with the toothbrush running like crazy and it had spit the toothpaste anywhere. He was a bit annoyed now and yelled even louder than before “Ning Wang, come here now” some fast steps was hear and a door was opened and closed before some small tiny quiet steps came closer to the bathroom before a sadly face appeared and replied “Sorry grandfather, I just wanted to see the fireworks so badly” Ning Wang had almost tears in eyes to show how sad she was but Jiahao just keep his hard style and with a commanding voice replies “No more fireworks before this mess is cleaned and your teeth is white is like stars”
